A New Patient Experience that’s second-to-none!

Sometimes we meet people who tell us they don’t need to visit the dentist regularly because they follow a comprehensive care routine at home and have no problems with their teeth.

However, whilst maintaining excellent dental hygiene habits is always recommended, brushing and flossing aren’t always enough. As a new patient, following a thorough initial exam and discussion of your lifestyle, your DentalCareXtra dentist will be able to advise on the optimum frequency of visits for you. And to get you started, we have a great value New Patient Experience.

What is DentalCareXtra’s New Patient Experience?

Here at DentalCareXtra, we want to make it as easy and pleasant as possible to access excellent dental care. We’ve developed our New Patient Experience to offer a comprehensive and great value package of care that will set you on the way to the perfect smile. Our friendly and experienced team will develop a treatment programme tailored to your unique needs and lifestyle, and our custom-built modern premises ensure your first experience as a new patient will be comfortable, convenient and exactly what you hope a visit to the dentist should be!

What do I get out of the New Patient Experience?

During your initial consultation, we will undertake a comprehensive dental check that not only involves your teeth and gum, but also the head and neck. This examination will check for any possible signs of oral cancer, along with other issues that may impact on your overall health.
Digital X-rays, photographs and dental impressions of your teeth will also be taken where necessary.

On your second visit, we will talk you through the options for your dental treatment. You then have the opportunity to ask questions and agree with your dentist the best treatment plan and visit frequency, based on your specific needs.

On average, seeing a dentist twice a year is sufficient. Some people may require fewer visits (such as those with low risk of cavities or gum disease), whilst others may need more. Quarterly visits may be recommended if any of the following apply:
• Smokers
• Pregnant women
• Diabetics
• Current gum disease
• Reduced immune response to bacterial infection
• Tendency to develop cavities or build up plaque

Your visit frequency may also change throughout your life – in times of stress or illness, your DentalCareXtra dentist may recommend visiting more often than usual.

How can I minimise the cost of dental care?

We offer all health fund holders our New Patient Experience. The rebate may vary based on your actual plan.

The DentalCareXtra team are always happy to answer any questions you may have, whether related to the New Patient Experience or any other aspect of our service.
